My dear daughter,
You have heard me say oftentimes and I am sure you have heard this from other people too, “A person is known by the company s/he keeps.” This means that a person is similar to the people s/he chooses to spend time with and will have the same character and moral values as those s/he chooses to surround him or herself with. A person usually associates with those s/he feels comfortable with and who are like him/her. This gives credence to the statement that “birds of the same feather flock together.”
My dear, the company you choose to keep will make or mar your life’s trajectory and its outcomes. I will not be wrong to say that in your formative years, your mother and I have strived to instill in you the right values and encouraged you to be an individual with strong character and integrity. I advise that as you go through life, make sure to choose the company you associate with carefully so that your life will turn out the way you dream it would and not be derailed because of the associations you have made along the way.
If you spend too little time with the right people, sooner or later you find that you are living a life which you will regret.
My dear, strive to keep the right company, be with those who love, encourage, and support you, and exude positive energy so that your life pathway will be that of pleasantness and peace.
Love you always.
