Remember who you are…
In today’s world where many people suffer from an identity crisis those words from my dad is more relevant to me now than ever before but who actually am I?
For many years I struggled with this question as I journeyed towards self-awareness, yet those words were lamp to my feet and light to my path. At every turn I was drawn to aspects of my heritage that spoke to me be it unique craftsmanship or her exquisite dressing.

It was not until my time at college that I reaslised the yearning for self-validation, self-awareness and identity was already inherent in the way I dressed and the beliefs I hold dear to me. I am first an Igbo man, second a Nigerian then a global citizen.
Those words of my dad subconsciously shaped my world view and no matter where I go, those are the words that would lead me home…remember who you are (cheta onye I bu).
