With despair I cry to my Lord.
Are you that far away from me?
It is said you are always near your offspring,
But, why do I reach for you and feel no returning hand?
My soul is the worst hit of my distance from you.
My mind is fixed in thinking of the sadness and the evil of the world.
My spirit fades away, and wonders about to no point.
My body is weak, it is weak.
But, of all these, I fear for my soul.
It will stay forever.
It will never be happy with this feeling of distance.
Oh Lord! Please hold me so I will not fall,
I will not fall into the abyss,
I will not look for you,
I will not be despondent when evil calls
And I cry to you for help – for mercy.
I hope never to feel I can never receive
Your help or Your mercy.
My soul, God is near.
Do not be afraid,
For your sins are forgiven if you trust in Him.
