Today we throwback to an old video of Nigerian Afropop singer, Iyanya. In the video, we see how the singer has evolved in recent times.
Iyanya Mbuk rose to fame after winning the first season of Project Fame West Africa and co-founded the record label Made Men Music Group with Ubi Franklin. He signed a record deal with Mavin Records in October 2016.
Born in Calabar, Cross River State, Iyanya completed his primary, secondary, and university education in Calabar. He is a business management graduate from the University of Calabar. After graduating from the University of Calabar, Iyanya worked in a hotel and sang karaoke at a local bar. He was motivated to pursue music professionally after watching 2 Face Idibia and Olu Maintain.
In 2008, KCee from KC Presh convinced Iyanya to partake in the first season of Project Fame West Africa. Iyanya emerged as the winner. Iyanya recorded a song- Kukere that popularized the Etighi dance in his hometown of Calabar. Here is a blast from the past with Iyanya’s Kukere:
