In recent weeks we have been passing on the baton from one Digital Amazon to another on our WCW column and today we reach the home straight as our digital speaks edition is scheduled to come out next month (March). Our 5 woman relay has comprised of phenomenal athletes- Florence, Temitayo, Omokehinde, Temitope and now to our anchor leg, the trail blazing Ized Uanikhehi.
Ized Uanikhehi is the Co-founder of TORA Africa, a tech startup with focus on creating employment opportunities while promoting a safe and responsible driving culture on African roads.
Before co-founding TORA, she was Director of Marketing, PR and Growth at Metro Africa Xpress (MAX) and is the convener of the largest community of digital marketing professionals in Africa – DIGICLAN.
A graduate of Biochemistry, with 13 years post-college experience in Marketing, who has spent the last 6 years changing the digital landscape through her work, using digital for advocacy and helping startups promote their businesses through digital. She has worked for and with Multi-billion naira brands, International and local, successfully developing and working on a number of creative digital and offline marketing strategies to propel their brands forward.
With a career that has transversed the digital marketing industry, from creating strategies for brands such as Union Bank, Bank of Industry, to being the social producer at CNN Africa, Ized has evangelized the importance of digital marketing in bridging the digital (and gender) divide at a number of Women in Tech International and National events.
And in line with her commitment to bridging the digital (and gender) divide in Africa, she has (and continues) to train groups at countless events with a special focus on women across West Africa, including as resource person for the USAID and Central Bank of Nigeria.
Some of her notable speaking engagements include, Silicon Valley; Women In Tech International (WITI), on Bridging the Digital Gender Divide and African Women in Technology (AWIT), Kenya, on Maximizing social media to drive social growth in Africa.
