Eze Uche Dimgba the Eze igbo Ikeja is spearheading the Igbo Cultural Day in Ikeja and combining it with his New Yam Festival. 2017 marks the inagural edition of the Igbo Cultural Day in Ikeja which event takes place at the Bishop Vinning Grounds, Oba Akinjobi Street, GRA, Ikeja on the 4th of November 2017.
This inagural edition is the begining of an annual celebration in the centre of the capital of Lagos State the Centre of Excellence.
Eze Dimgba had this to say “Lagos is the Centre of Excellence. However, I personally refer to Lagos State as ‘The Welcoming State – The Home for All’ It is a state where citizens from all over Nigeria fell very welcome and at home. This is the reason why we have conceived a CULTURAL DAY IN IKEJA to be held in the Capital of Lagos State to Celebrate Igbo Culture with all Igbos in Lagos and other citizen of our great country resident in Lagos to foster better understanding of our cultures. My annual New Yam Festival Celebrations will be part of this cultural day celebration. I am confident that this maiden edition will be a huge success which will attract the attention of the Lagos State Ministry of Culture and Tourism and which over the coming years will merit a pride of place in the cultural calendar of Lagos Festivals making it a hugh draw for both local and foreign tourism”
