An intimate relationship is composed of friendship, sexual attraction, intellectual compatibility, love and many other things. The couple need to vulnerable to each other physically, emotionally, financially and spiritually. Since it is between the two of them, there are some things that they need to keep to themselves.
In this social media age, it may seem the norm to want to post everything ongoing in ones relationship to the public to gain fame and applaud. On the flip side, thinking that revealing all that happens in your relationship would salvage it, only makes matters worse. There are things that should be left as secret and these include:
1.Sex related matters
On no occasion should discuss your sex lives -how often you do (or don’t) have sex, any sexual fantasies, problems in the bedroom) with your friends or a third party. If you do this, it robs your relationship of its intimacy. No matter or how small the sex talk is, treat your partner with respect and never discuss with anyone.
2. Finance
Money is important to keep relationships going. In situations of financial troubles, don’t go about discussing with people. Money-related issues can be stressful but can be solved without any third-party involvement except the use of a financial advisor. People have tendencies to spread secrets without thinking twice. Keep money matters private.
3. Flaws
Don’t betray the trust of your partner by discussing their flaws with people. When a man is made to feel less like a man, or when a woman is made to feel less like a woman, they are deeply hurt. This further escalates relationship problems. Accepting that nobody is perfect and we all have flaws would keep your relationship waxing stronger.
4. Disputes
Unless in situations of domestic violence, relationship ‘fights’ should not be discussed with anyone. Try to resolve your differences amicably and seek solutions when you are both calm and level headed.
