Advice Papa Gave Me: Always Hold Your Peace

My Darling Daughter,

In life, you are not going to be everyone’s favourite and you won’t be able to get everyone to like you or to treat you the way you want to be treated. This is a given. This being so, you have to learn to take things in your stride when it comes to your relationships with other people.

You don’t have to react to everything that is said or done to you even though you may be offended. You just have to learn to let go because you don’t have to hurt those who hurt you.

Because you don’t react doesn’t mean you condone the wrong done to you, it means that you are choosing to rise above it. It is a good sign of your maturity when you walk away instead of getting even.
