My dear daughter,
I find it interesting that these days, when you ask youngsters what they want to be ‘when they grow up’, some mention the occupation of a ‘celebrity.’
I may be considered old fashioned, but when I think about the fact that ‘celebrities’ these days tend to be actors and actresses and musicians, more often known for their notorious antics than their work ethic, it leaves plenty to be desired.
It is worthy to note that Ashton Kutcher gave some insightful advice at 2013 Teen Choice Awards. After receiving the ceremony’s Ultimate Choice Award, Ashton began his acceptance speech by revealing his real name as Chris. He then informed the audience the most important things he learned before he became Ashton: opportunity looks a lot like hard work; the sexiest thing in the entire world is being really smart, and being thoughtful and generous, and it has nothing to do with the ‘crap’ people try to sell to you to make you feel like less; you can build your own things and you can build your own life that other people can live in
It is quite commendable that he used this platform to give genuine advice. So, my dear daughter being a celebrity can be quite challenging and if like most you cannot be humble and level headed, you will self-destruct.
