My Dear Daughter,
When St. Paul advised in his Letter to the Thessalonians:
No matter how many curve balls life throws at you, you just have to give it a positive spin so that you can take the next step. You may wonder how you can find sincere gratitude when there’s nothing obvious to be grateful for; when everything seems to be going wrong; when you have financial difficulties, failed relationships, health problems, death of loved ones… the list of woes and challenges are unending.
No one is immune from the pain-inflicted life’s challenges and problems, and when we experience pain as a result of them, we usually say we have nothing to be grateful for. The reason we think this way is because we forget something very important: that we feel pain because we are alive and breathing. Those who are dead have no more earthly challenges or problems.
We can and should always be grateful for life and the many opportunities and challenges. Because we are still alive, we have the chance to make changes and adjustments. I am sure you have read articles that advice one to live each day as if it was our last. My dear, this is sound advice. We should face and appreciate every day and live it with passion and purpose as if it was our last day on earth.
My dear be sincerely grateful for whatever life throws at you. See life as a gift to be grateful for and do the best to live your life with whatever gifts and talents you have been blessed with always being on your guard to put a positive spin on things happening to you along life’s journey.
My darling, I have always been grateful and thankful for having you in my life even if at some point or the other you have been a pain.
Love you always,
Dad
