My Dear Daughter,
As you go through life, you may find yourself working at a job you can’t stand. You may want to quit, but are afraid you’ll attract more of the same.
My dear, we only have one life to live so do not waste it stuck in a situation you don’t like. However, while you are actively on the lookout for a better position, the best way to handle the position you find yourself in is to focus on all the positives you can. If you can find something to appreciate, even if it’s appreciating a regular paycheck, which covers some of your current expenses, you will begin to feel better. As you feel better, you’ll find it easier to notice another thing you appreciate about your job.
It is important to find the positives inherent in the present job. If you don’t change the way you feel about the job, chances are you will simply attract another miserable job.
Adopting a positive attitude about a present situation may need you to adopt a new way of thinking by ‘acting’. It is easier to act yourself into a new way of thinking than it is to think your self into a new way of acting. What this means is, instead of trying to change the way you think about your job, begin to get a picture of yourself acting like you enjoy your job. Make the effort to do this. The likely resultant effect is that you may begin to feel more positive, which offers new perspectives, which will either attract different situations in your current job or you’ll find yourself working in a new job that you like and enjoy doing because you are now looking at situations from a positive angle.
So my dear, if you ever find yourself in a job situation you don’t like, focus on as many positives as you can and take positive steps to remedy the situation.
Love you always,
Dad
