My Darling Daughter,
Daily, we are faced with choices and the need to make quick-thinking decisions. Oftentimes, these decisions happen routinely and are of little consequence, for instance, making a choice between coffee and tea or between water and soda. However, there are times when decisions accompany weightier choices that may have a lasting impact on our lives. Such decisions spark significant changes.
I have often told you that it’s much wiser to contemplate major changes because once the decisions have been made, fear becomes null. Don’t let yourself be paralyzed by the mirage of fear which is known to bear the fruit of procrastination. Take action; just DO IT!
Oftentimes, past experiences may prevent us from making decisions that will activate our personal life changes. Choose to live your life void of regrets, living, instead, full of discipline and decisiveness.
“I think I will”, “I am going to” or “I wish I could” are procrastinative words with the ability to prevent you from realizing your dreams. Why is this? People are fond of sabotaging their goals because they don’t follow-up their dreams with its accompanying action. Don’t build your castles in the air.
My dear, you have to leave your comfort zone because change demands this. Life is constantly hurling challenges at us, but it gives no room for comfort zones. The sooner you grasp this, the better you’ll be able to cope with life and live it on your own terms.
- The past experiences might have instilled fear, but overcome fear with faith.
- Uncertainty may cause doubt; clarify your goals and set timelines to achieve them. This will help you overcome your doubts.
- Set a timeline for moving forward and practical step-by-step actions.
- Clarify specific actions that must be taken.
- Don’t shy away from seeking advice and help from those who can help you achieve your goals.
Today, this moment – not the next or tomorrow – is the time to make that change you’ve been contemplating. And while you are making that move, always bear in mind that “Fortune favours the brave” not those who are squeamish and afraid to face life squarely.
You are the only one who has the power to change your life and steer it in the direction you want it to go. I wish you all the best my dear.
Love you always,
Dad
