“One day your life will flash before your eyes. Make sure it’s worth watching.” ~ Unknown
“Procrastination is the thief of time.” How often we have had this said to us. Often times we have said this to our selves. My son, at my present age, I sometimes wish I had taken this statement as my Vision Statement. Why? Because I would have used my time wisely and applied them towards the many goals I had set for myself. Yes, there is always tomorrow, but putting off for tomorrow what you can start today can result in years of “tomorrows” within which you have done noting else but wait for another tomorrow. Son, bear in mind that as long as the world is in existence, tomorrow never ends.
My son, do take time to create a list of:
1. Who you want to be in life
2. How you want to live your life
3. Some of the things you want to achieve in your lifetime
And having done this, take immediate steps towards reaching your set goals no matter how small the steps. Don’t wait for tomorrow to start taking those steps. Stay focused, don’t be lazy about them.
It may be advisable for you to write an affirmation, which encapsulates your vision and your mission in life. Having written this affirmation, commit it to memory. This will help sharpen your focus and keep you on the track you have chosen.
My son, as you journey through life, you may have to make many adjustments, or detours towards your stated mission and vision for your life. Do not be discouraged by the obstacles you may meet or face. That is the way of nature. Make the necessary adjustments to ensure you are not derailed from your destination. As long as you are clear minded and determined, making all the necessary efforts to achieve your aims and goals instead of putting them off for another day, you will be happy with yourself and at the end of the journey you would have made sure your life “is worth watching”.
