My dear daughter,
Life is a journey with unexpected turns that take us through pleasant experiences or downright awful ones. The truth is that our lives can change quite suddenly for good or bad.
My dear, to properly navigate through life with little to no hiccups, I’d advice you to find a good mentor. A good mentor will help you cope with upheavals within every facet of your life. They’ll teach you the importance of interacting with people you meet with thoughtfulness, respect and above all kindness.
My dear, if you find yourself being a mentor, endeavour to transmit the importance of thoughtfulness, respect and kindness to your mentee’s. Having these characteristics doesn’t translate to lowliness, instead, it reflects good values in their dealings with others regardless of who they are or what position they hold.
The lyric from a Glen Campbell song sums it all too well.
“Try A Little Kindness”
If you see your brother standing by the road
With a heavy load from the seeds he sowed
And if you see your sister falling by the way
Just stop and say you’re goin’ the wrong way
You’ve got to try a little kindness yes show a little kindness
Yes shine your light for everyone to see
And if you’ll try a little kindness and you’ll overlook the blindness
Of the narrow-minded people on the narrow-minded streetsDon’t walk around the down and out lend a helping hand instead of doubt
And the kindness that you show every day will help someone along their way
You’ve got to try a little kindness…
You’ve got to try a little kindness…
My dear, aim to be a blessing to the people you encounter during your earthly sojourn; be kind and mindful of them.
Love you always,
Dad
