My dear daughter,
I’m sure the word ‘passion’ isn’t new to you. The word encompasses the drive of those who put in the effort and heart to achieve their desired goals. Being passionate is a gateway to live a meaningful and well-rounded life. However, you have to understand that passion, unlike rain, doesn’t fall from the sky; you create passion through your actions.
If you, like most, have a vision or a dream of what you want to do or be in your life, don’t believe the lie that you must have it all figured out at once. Remember life happens a day at a time, hence, you need to just take it one step at a time. But you have to take the first step, proceeding with confidence, hope and faith that you will reach your destination.
If there’s something you’ve been planning to do, but you haven’t acted on it yet, this births the downward spiral of procrastination. Stop procrastinating, instead, take off with passion! Passion and inner strength gain momentum when you take the first step forward.
We spend most of our adult lives attempting to figure out what we really want to do; what we are passionate about, so we can find happiness, success and fulfilment. But this sequence may be an error because we lose time this way, and before long we’ve reached our prime age. You should, instead, take on everything your hand finds to do with passion.
The writer of Ecclesiastes put this succinctly when he said,
“Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the realm of the dead, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom.” – Ecclesiastes 9:10
“Do it with all your might” can be paraphrased as “ do it with passion” If you are still trying to figure out what your passion is, it is time for you to understanding that “passion” is the act of doing. Passion is not something to be found as people opine because it isn’t a game of hide and seek. Instead, it comes from doing things right; doing things with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might, whether big or small.
So my dear, start today to experience positive changes. It is time to be proactive and be passionate about everything you do.
Think about it:
- When was the last time you sat down and had a conversation with someone without getting distracted?
- When was the last time you decided to do something about your weight and stick to the regime you set for yourself without faltering?
- When was the last time you truly made the effort to be the best version of yourself?
We are often guilty of making halfhearted efforts because we can’t be bothered. We eagerly wait to ‘find’ something to be passionate about; some special reason to step into the life we want to create for our self. This type of mindset will limit you.
My beloved, whatever your hand finds to do, do so with all your heart, soul, spirit and might – this is what ensures you live a life of passion!
Love you always,
Dad
