Movida Night club boss, Akeem Sodehinde, has finally shut down the popular celebrity hangout on the Island in Lagos State. Checks by us revealed that the No 1 celebrity hangout was closed on Wednesday, October 8,2014. While many are still in shock and confusion on possible cause, we reliably gathered that the boss of Nite Club business in Nigeria as Akeem is widely called sealed up the place to attend to health issues and and due to his new found faith in Christ.
On Saturday, October 18,2014 in a chat with the man at the centre of the issue, Akeem, he confirmed the detail and shed more light on the reasons behind the closure of the multi-million naira business.
” Yes, the club was shut down Few days back for health reasons, to re brand and also give my life to christ”
He also cleared the air that he didn’t shut it down due to debt as being speculated in some quarters. According to him, “I didn’t close it due to indebtedness. Moreover, owning debt has always been part of any viable business all over the world.”
He also shed more light on why he is now more religious. He said, ” in 2009, before I opened Movida, while I was running Insomnia club with Joseph Yobo and Lolu, I made a Promise to God that I will never gamble again. I made a vow that if I did that He should strike me dead or punish me. God was good to me and I got 77 million naira to open Movida. I made so much money but never paid my tithe. Rather I was acting like father christmas dashing beggars and girlfriends huge money. I went through a lot and at a point I think I would die but God kept me alive and I’m living on one kidney now. So, I might go to a bible school”
