The Founder of Africa Film Academy, AFA, and organiser, AMAA, Ms. Peace Anyiam Osigwe, has announced nominations for the 17th edition of the AMAA Awards.
This year’s edition, according to her, will hold in November in Lagos, with nomination announcement set to hold this month also in Lagos. The Africa Film Academy, also, announced that it is set to launch a new initiative, “100 Film Project”, which is aimed at training and supporting African creatives.
While announcing the 100 Film Project, Abiola Durodola, the Project Lead, noted that AFA will be training new talents for the film industry which is all encompassing of the wider creative community and skilled labour like, carpenters, tailors and hairdressers.
“We regularly run training programmes across Africa, equipping young film makers on industry best practices. This year, we have held training sessions in Port Harcourt, Bayelsa and Asaba on cinematography and film production,” said Durodola.
