- Success in any area needs one to prepare and work hard. Preparation means you have to have a goal and then fashion out your plan and strategy to achieve that goal. With this in place you have to stay focused as you implement your strategy.
- Start your day by reviewing your game plan to advance your business – how to get it to perform better. Everything should be geared toward that.
- Do not waste time implementing a plan once green-lighted. This keeps your productivity on a high gear.
- You will have to apply yourself to multiple things all needing attention at the same time. So it is important to carve out time to review things regularly so as not to get into a bind.
- Set goals for each year. It is important to set your goals for a given year in line with your business. It may be best to classify them as short, medium and the final destination for the year.
- I am sure you are familiar with the statement that if you don’t plan for what you have to do, you have planned to fail. The motto of the Scout Movement should be your watch word – “Be Prepared.” Always make the best preparations that you can so that if you make some mistakes along the way, they will not be disastrous. You then learn from the mistakes and move on.
- Team Building. To succeed you need to work with other people. Your business may require that you work with a team. Get involved in your team. Make it a priority to be hands-on and create a culture that resonates with the ethos of your business.
- Whatever the product or service you are providing, strive to always give the best to your customer. Make customer satisfaction one of your mission statements.
- On a personal level do your best to improve on who you are every single day and try to inculcate the same principle in your team.
- Success comes at a price. In nature, there is no free lunch. If you decide not to put in the work that is necessary, there’s a price – you won’t succeed or get to the level you possibly could. If you do put in the work that is required, there will be a sacrifice as well – your time, or your sleep, or even your peace of mind. There’s always a price and you have to pay it.
