Oh, the price of fame. It’s a slippery slope for most artists who start gaining massive recognition and can’t handle the pressure of fandom. But, when they wrong the right crowd – a.k.a fans, it may be the dawn of a failed career; Mr Eazi has found this to be true.
Everyone. Maybe not everyone. Most people know of Coachella: the American music festival, thanks to Beyonce headlining it last year and doing a great job, if I may add. This year, the inclusion of only two African artistes – Burna Boy and Mr Eazi (who are both Nigerians. Although, Eazi may have sold his soul to Ghana) – was welcomed with excitement, however short-lived.
Burna Boy took the liberty to voice his disapproval with the size of the font his name was written in on the official Coachella e-flyer.

Too much? Well, most Nigerians held the opinion that he is proud and entitled; hence he should be removed entirely from the list.
This, of course, didn’t go down well with the vocal Afrobeats artiste. Further upsetting Nigerians, he took to his Instagram status to call Nigerians “unprogressive fools”. But, don’t be worried if you know you aren’t in the category of fools Burna refers to. He has a message for you too: “to the few proud YOUNG AFRICAN intellectuals who will not conform to whatever bullshit they are given. You are the only Hope of AFRICA. God bless you all.”
