Advice Papa Gave Me: Choose Your Friends

My dear daughter,

There is an adage that says – “A person is known by the company they keep”. In other words, show me your friends and I will tell you your character.

My dear girl please chose the company you keep very carefully. Do not let the fear of being alone, or the feeling of wanting to belong to a particular group make you get into the wrong circle. In order to know how to relate to people, first try to understand who you are, what you want to be and where you are going in life. Then try to make friends who you feel most like yourself around them.

Chose friends who inspire and motivate you to achieve your goals. Chose friends who you are comfortable to be in their company, who make you laugh easily, and who make you feel like you’re in your best outfit when you’re with them, even though you’re dressed down.

As I said earlier, a person is known by the company they keep. Choose your friends carefully.
