Yesterday, Pride Magazine reported that Nigerians are seriously questioning singer, Davido’s Second Class result. Well, we have it on good authority that his good grade may mot be unconnected to his father’s investment in the school. Davido was reportedly the only graduating student from the department and further investigations have revealed that the music department was actually set by the crooner’s billionaire father, Deji Adeleke some years back.
Davido’s H.O.D (Head of Department), Olusegun Ojuola, in his comment said, Olusegun Ojuola said: ‘Well, it’s really a long journey, because it’s through the help of Dr Deji Adeleke that the department was developed over three and half years ago. But we actually started admitting (students) in 2012.’ Ojuola added that the department currently has a total of 27 students and he didn’t fail to note that he foresees a boom in the number of students in the next session set to begin in September. ‘The department is growing, right now, the population is 27, and I’m expecting a kind of population explosion this next admission year because the number of students within the university that have shown interest to transfer from their departments to Music is overwhelming. We also have students transferring from other university like Bells, Bowen, OAU and others.’ He went on to boast about the facilities at the department, saying: ‘I’m not boasting but with the facilities we have, you can’t find its match at another university running a degree programme in Music. NUC also testifies to it, our studio is hi-tech.’…
It is common knowledge that, owing to his contribution to the school, his son Davido would ordinarily graduate with flying colours.
