Dear Dorothy,
I am 17 years of age and am not happy with my looks. I think I am overweight and flat chested. I consider my friends in school quite good looking, with the boys chasing after them. I recently started taking alcohol to try and boost my confidence, but it does not seem to be helping at all. I am afraid I will go through life lonely and alone. I am so confused, please advice me.
My dear,
Truth be told, beauty comes in all shapes and sizes, and is not necessarily in the size of one’s boobs or shape. In reality, I have found that beauty is an “inside out” quality. It is important to love who we are and exude confidence and competence. This is what I think make guys interested in certain girls. It’s not all guys that like big boobs or skinny girls. And I may add that it is probably because you don’t like yourself, you aren’t friendly and fun to be with, and this makes you unattractive to guys that you meet. Try to stop obsessing about your looks and have a good time – people are drawn to happy, lively people. Taking to alcohol is a one-way street to nowhere – it will not boost your confidence or make you more popular or pretty – it’ll only ruin your life. Stop abusing alcohol now.
