Most times people smile with their teeth. The smile is not just a facial expression, it is way of letting the other person feel accepted and welcomed. Believe it or not, your dressing is incomplete without the perfect smile. Studies show that white teeth makes a person more attractive. A person is more confident smiling when he/she has a good set of white teeth.
Now teeth discolouration is not uncommon. As a person grows older, the teeth tend to be discoloured or yellowish/brownish. However, with the right routine, there are a number of quick fixes to help brighten your smile and make your teeth whiter.
These include:
1. Change your lifestyle
Stop taking certain foods and drinks, such as red wine, dark sodas, coffee, and tea, that stain teeth and cause them to discolour. Also, stay away from tobacco because it causes teeth discolouration.
2.Adopt proper brushing habit
Practise good hygiene by brushing and flossing regularly. Use a toothpaste rich in hydrogen peroxide or carbamine peroxide which is not too abrasive.
3.Stop grinding teeth
Being a chronic teeth grinder causes stress on your teeth that quicken the ageing and teeth discolouration process.
4.Use natural products to whiten teeth
Did you know that rubbing lemon, orange, or banana peels on your teeth will make them whiter? It is believed that the compound d-limonene, which is found in some fruit peels, are good teeth whiteners. All that is required is to gently rub the fruit peels on your teeth for about two minutes then thoroughly rinse out your mouth and brush your teeth afterwards.
5. Bleaching
Visit your dentist occasionally to bleach your teeth, if you prefer this option. Dentists usually use products that contain hydrogen peroxide to protect your teeth. They will protect your gums, tooth enamel, and the rest of your mouth from damage during the process.
