The first edition of the Black Tie Christmas concert series, organised by His Majesty’s Music, will take place at Agip Recital Hall, Muson Centre, Onikan Lagos on Sunday, December 19, 2021.
The event promises to be a lovely evening, with internationally acclaimed soloists Unoma Okudo, Genevieve Ogu, Guchi Kest Egbunine, and Dele Nelson-Cole gracing the stage to give unique renditions of classic Christmas tunes and stables of popular film music, and also introduce the audience to lesser-known songs. The soloists will be accompanied by the Atlantis Orchestra and Choir under the direction of international award-winning composer, Chuck Okudo.
“It promises to be a magical evening of phenomenal music performed by the best musicians the country has to offer,” said Chuck Okudo. “There will be music to suit all tastes. Something for everyone! This concert will be remembered for years to come.”
The Chairman of this maiden edition is His Excellency, Peter Obi, former Governor of Anambra State and former Vice Presidential Candidate. The Special Guests of Honour are the Executive Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Godwin Obaseki, and his wife, the First Lady of Edo State, Betsy Obaseki.
The event will raise funds for the musical education of Nigerian children living in orphanages of primary and secondary school age. The project is tagged “‘No Child Left Behind’, and it aims to provide opportunities for less privileged children to discover or nurture their talents.
