My Dear Daughter,
I am sure that you are familiar with the statement – “What doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger.” A popular adage that serves to remind us that we are made stronger because of life’s challenges.
This is a great adage, but along life’s torturous and unpredictable twists and turns as we journey through, oftentimes when faced with disappointments, failed relationships, life’s curveball we are sometimes prone to get weighed down by them. We are overwhelmed and become mired in the negative aspects of our situation. We are unable to shake off how life has dealt with us or is dealing with us. This may result in one wallowing in self-pity.
My dear, bad stuff happens to people, while it is important to note when this happens in one’s life, do not let them incapacitate your ability to get up, dust yourself up and get on with your life. Do not let a sense of hopelessness overcome you whatever life throws at you.
Deep down we are all-stronger than we think we are and if we take steps not to be overcome with despair, we should learn whatever lessons are inherent in where we are and move on. Despairing does not offer solutions.
Really my dear, what does not kill you makes you stronger.
Stay safe.
Love you always.
Dad.
