In its effort to create job opportunities and generate more revenue, the Borno state government is constructing a conglomerate of industries which will gulp billions of Naira with a view to create more job opportunities to the teeming and youths and generate revenue to the state.
Governor Kashim Shettima who disclosed this in an interview with newsmen in Maiduguri shortly after inspecting some ongoing capital projects in Maiduguri Metropolis and its environs yesterday said the industries Borno Plastic Industry I and II phase, Solar Products Plants, Tomatoes processing factory among others geared toward creating job to the youths.
He said the factories if completed would produce household home appliances, solar streets, tomatoes paste and other household items, adding that the industrial area will be provided with all infrastructures.
Inspecting the construction works going on at the state University, the governor said that the Borno state University will by the graced of God will be completed before the end of the year to enable state indigenes secure admission into various programs of the University.
He said that some state universities in some parts of the country are nothing more than glorified secondary schools, stressing that the Borno state government is going to construct a standard state university before it’s taking off in no distant time.
Shettima also stated that the state government is going to construct three mega primary schools each across the 3 Senatorial zones of the state, adding that despite the challenges the state is being faced, they will do their best to transform the state.
