The New Year celebration is part of the festivities this season. It is important because it lays down the foundations for the new year. Despite being a relatively simple and straightforward holiday, the new year can sometimes leave people depressed. We have tips on how to make the new year celebration grand:
1. Go for midnight church service
You can spend the New Year celebration at the midnight church service (Watch night), which takes place on New Year’s Eve. This is usually the one last big coming together before everyone goes about their businesses so, you are guaranteed to have fun, socialize while also not risking a crashing hangover hopefully.
2. Host a dinner party
You would need to make plans way early in advance so that people are aware of them. There is nothing worse than informing family and friends that you have a dinner party for New Year’s when they have other plans for the day. After your plan to host your New Year dinner party, go ahead and invite people to come and join you. You can spice up the dinner party to make it memorable with fun activities like board games, perhaps swimming parties and so on.
3. Binge on movies
Invite some of your friends or family over on New Year’s Eve, order a takeout, take some popcorn and soft drinks and pop yourself on the couch and watch your favourite movies. Watching movies is great for creating bonds and making memories with those you love.
4. Rest
This is the best you can do on New Year’s day. Rest is the best medicine. Take time to do nothing and just relax. Spending some time alone on New Year’s resting is a perfectly acceptable way to welcome the New Year. You can use that time to reflect and meditate, perhaps brainstorm on new goals over the new year. However, if your desire to spend time alone is due to depression or any other mental issues, consider seeking medical help.
