My Dear Daughter,
Each new day comes with its own challenge and opportunity; hence, it is important to start your day by guiding your mind towards productive thoughts only. Leaving your mind open to negative stray thoughts is a sure way to be broken down by daily challenges. Every day, your aim should be to create a peaceful environment for your mind to be able to function to its full capacity in other to produce expected results.
Wake up and evaluate what needs to be done; work towards having a successful outcome rather than deliberating failure. Doubting thoughts may lead you to procrastinate and in so doing, miss your opportunity to achieve great success.
For example:
When we let people get under our skin and enrage us, we give them the power to control our emotions. We get angry because they aren’t behaving the way we believe they “should” behave. The frustration, then, doesn’t stem from their behaviour, but in our implacable opinion.
Also, when we think about making a healthy lifestyle change, like losing weight or quitting smoking, we are inspired by the thought of how good we’ll look slimmer or how healthy our lungs will become. However, when we are faced with the indelibly strenuous process to achieve our goal, we give up.
My dear, let me reiterate: positivity is not an option, with much fervour, fight to start each new day with a positive mindset. Refuse negative thoughts because like a loop they indirectly form your behavioural pattern; instead of focusing on your goals, you stack them aside, then guilt sets in, then you regret not taking action, then you become frustrated and blame others for it until you realize you have no hold on your life.
If you’ve been giving heed to negative thoughts, you need a mental detox; practice replacing negative thoughts with positive ones daily. So, rather than saying, “I don’t know what to do”, say, “I can figure this out”. Have an “I can do” mentality, and in no time, you’ll attain a higher production level.
My dear, no matter what you are going through, always maintain a positive stance because behind every dark cloud is a silver lining.
Love you always,
Dad
