“Love your curves and all your edges…” well John Legend knows, he knows the architectural awesomeness of the female figure (I’m guessing that’s what he meant by ‘curves’). For me, the prerequisite needed to be a female eye candy is being a stylish woman who knows how to dress her figure, nothing beats that. Being fashionable isn’t just all about being trendy, neither is it all about having a great personal style, you must also know your body. I mean, clothes are made for us; we aren’t made for clothes right? One important fact we ought to always keep in mind is that our bodies experience spatial change, especially for women.
Take pregnancy for instance, we love babies, they bring tons of joy into our lives, so it is safe to say most (if not all) women aspire to have a child or children of their own some day, but we all know that it is easier said than it is experienced: pregnancy changes things. The first visible change the world notices is the baby bump. Recently, Mrs Naeto C was spotted with her growing baby bump looking absolutely stunning, pregnancy suits her well I must say. She wore a gorgeous pale pink maxi-dress that was appropriate for her “frontal curve” with minimal accessories; all in all, she looked very stylish. However, not everyone gets it right especially first time moms.
Retaining your stylishness during pregnancy isn’t rocket science, but it can as well be because of how tedious and overwhelming things could get. From dealing with hormones to planning for the coming of the baby to trying to adjust your wardrobe to fit your constantly changing body, it gets too exhausting. There is a high tendency for your style to go from fab to drab, but it doesn’t have to be the case. There are few tips to make this stage of your life fashionably manageable.
Pregnancy could be a bit tricky, remember that your baby bump could grow every few weeks so invest in clothes that will not only accommodate your body for nine months, but can also be worn post pregnancy. Satisfy two needs with one dress.
DO have fun with your outfits and aim at being stylish and sexy, but always keep in mind your PS which by the way should not be tossed aside because you are pregnant.
DO welcome dresses. If you are a jeans and t-shirt kinda gal, this could be a bit out of your comfort zone, but know that the right dress 99% of the time looks amazing with baby bumps. However, you have to be practical in choosing dresses; stick to cuts that leave room for your growing bump as well as flatters your figure, yes, you still have a figure.
In my opinion, I would say be daring and DO wear heels like the wonder woman, Victoria Beckham, who wore towering heels throughout her pregnancy, but this is a tad bit impractical and could be pushing the envelope a bit too far. So DON’T wear heels, opt for open flats that allow room for your feet, be comfortably chic.
One last tip: colours, colours, colours!
A little effort could go a long way, love your curves.
