Our Man Crush Monday, Chika Nwaogu describes himself as a changemaker, entrepreneur, activist and leader. As a social entrepreneur, he is the Founder of PadHer, a health and wellbeing startup that aims to improve the quality of life of women and girls in Africa.

Chika has distinguished himself as a problem solver through his social enterprise. Noticing that 3 out of 10 girls skip classes because of painful periods, he employed the power of technology to help solve the period-related problems affecting their productivity and academics. Chika and his team provide Kosi, a transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) device that offers immediate relief, unlike over-the-counter and prescription medication that normally takes at least 30 minutes to work.
The social enterprise also makes use of comic books to address the lack of information about menstrual health and hygiene and the lack of sanitary products for girls in underserved communities, leading them to miss a significant amount of school. Three free reusable sanitary pads are provided with each comic book. This provides girls with the necessary information to effectively manage their periods and build the self-confidence to take control of the future and succeed.
With a degree in physics from the University of Lagos, Chika went ahead to obtain an MBA from University of Cape Town. He is also an alumnus of the prestigious Stanford University with a specialisation in International Women’s Health and Human Rights.
Chika impressive skill sets covers strategy, communication, public speaking, and team leadership, among others. His education, along with these skills he has built over the years, gives him the wherewithal to effect lasting change. Pride Magazine Nigeria commends Chika Nwaogu for his social enterprise striving to make a better world for females – he is indeed worthy to be our Man Crush Monday.
