Our Man Crush Monday, Kelechi Uduma is a prominent Nigerian creative mind who possesses an impressive track record in delivering impactful brand experiences. With over a decade of experience in the advertising field, he has successfully led campaigns for renowned clients across various industries in at least ten African countries.
Initially coming from a background in Computer Engineering, Kelechi began his career as an intern at Centrespread Nigeria. However, his talent quickly propelled him to the position of Assistant Manager within the organisation. He later joined X3M Ideas, a top Nigerian advertising agency, where his professional journey has been nothing short of remarkable. Starting as a Deputy Manager, he has now ascended to Associate Creative Director.
Kelechi’s ability to inspire teams and seamlessly merge strategic thinking, creativity, and a profound understanding of pop culture sets him apart. He constantly strives to gain a deeper comprehension of people, recognizing that technologies may come and go, but it is the individuals who truly wield their power. Kelechi has spearheaded successful campaigns for numerous esteemed brands, including DStv, Showmax, betKING, SuperSports, Globacom, Airtel, Etisalat, 9mobile, Jameson, Martell, Chivas, Peak Milk, Knorr, Burger King Nigeria, LaCasera, Nirvana, Access Bank, Skye Bank, Suntrust Bank, Sterling Bank, Moneygram, Moneymaster, and Flutterwave, among others.
One of Kelechi’s notable achievements was his involvement in a recent social impact campaign for The Extra Step Initiative, which shed light on the long-standing soot problem in Port-Harcourt, Nigeria. This campaign garnered immense success, earning several accolades, including a prestigious Cannes Lion Award in France, the highest global recognition in the advertising industry. This accomplishment resulted from a collaborative team effort and marked a significant milestone for Nigeria and the entire West African subregion.
Kelechi holds a B.Eng in Computer Engineering from Enugu State University of Science & Technology and is an Oracle Database SQL Certified Associate. He also recently completed an executive leadership training program with the Henley Business School.
Outside of work, Kelechi is an avid supporter of Sporting Lagos and Manchester United. He firmly believes that Novak Djokovic is the greatest tennis player of all time and enjoys relaxing by achieving e-trophies for teams on any version of Football Manager he can get his hands on.
