It is mixed feelings for Hauwa’u Suleiman, who gave birth to quadruplets recently. The 34-year-old house wife is already mother to 13 children before the arrival of her quadruplets, making them a total of 17. Previously, she has given birth to to sets of triplets and two sets of twins. She also gave birth to three single babies.
Hauwa’u had put to bed at Gambo Sawaba General Hospital, Zaria, on Friday, June 5. Both mother and babies were transferred later to the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH) for better care. According to Sulaiman, the only male among the quadruplets died before they arrived ABUTH.
She said that she received blood donations during the delivery processes. She said:
“I am very healthy and strong but the medical experts advised that I need to be monitored very well before they can discharge me,’’
Unlike some men who abandon their wives in such situations, Hauwa’u’s husband, Malam Sulaiman Mohammed, a taxi driver, accepts all his children and sees them as gifts from God. Hauwa’u’s mother, Mallama Saidatu, explained that multiple births run in their family. According to her, she has given birth to two set of twin babies.
