OMINI
D’Banj
The question I asked when I heard that D’banj is out with a new single was, “Is D’banj truly back?”
And after listening to the track, I had only one thing to say, “D’banj’s team is still finding it hard to get the best out of the Lee Master.” Don’t get me wrong, OMINI is a good track, but for someone who’s seen the “Eja Nla” grow from the “Koko master” to become “Oliver Twist”, OMINI is like 10 years behind its time.
On a Scale of 0 – 10, the Song is a 6.
DON’T TELL ‘EM
Jeremih ft. YG.
When an A-Class act like PITBULL remixes another artist’s song in Spanish, then you don’t need to be told how good that song is. Jeremih currently sits comfortably on Billboard’s Hottest 10 and the track made it to the Top of Music Movies and More this week. Can we get a round of applause for Jere’?
On a Scale of 0 – 10, this Song is an 8.
MOVIES
GONE GIRL
St. Ben Afleck, Rosamund Pike, Tyler Perry, et al.
With September being a disappointing Ember month in recent times as far as the Cinema figures is concerned, there is hope for October and all hope falls on “GONE GIRL”. Why? David Fincher as a director has proven to be bankable over the years, plus Ben Afleck in the movie… did you forget ARGO and The Town’s huge success(es)? Gillian Flyn sold millions of the book from which this movie was adapted and you’ll expect more than enough. It’ll definitely open at above 30 million USD at the cinemas. And yes, don’t forget, we have the “Richest Black Guy” on set, who? Tyler Perry of course. And we sure need this cast to help us “find Amy”.
On a Scale of 0 -10, this Movie is a 7.
PRINCE OF TAMALE
St. Jackie Appiah, Prince David Osei, et al.
Mistakes in Life are like knives, they either serve you or cut you. Have this at the back of your mind before you set out to watch this movie at the cinema. It is a tale of a typical African setting, but I personally see it as that of women, what they go through with their men and why it remains a mystery. Like most West African movies, the production is below average, but when you put that aside and try to get the message of the entire story, it might be worth your time. Shoot me, but how this movie made it to the cinemas still amazes me.
On a Scale of 0 – 10, this movie is a 5.
