It’s fair to say that without the amazing and talented designers, Africa Fashion Week Nigeria would not be the international showcase that it is today. That’s why this year; new brands will be featured on the runway from various African countries: Claire Albert from Zimbabwe, F & F Afro Fashion House from Cameroon and Kemi Benjamin Creations from Nigeria.
Though they fall into the category, womenswear, they each possess unique aesthetics. See below.
Kemi Benjamin Creations
Kemi Benjamin Creations is a fashion brand that specializes in formal wears. The brand which was established by Olukemi Oderinde, caters to the uniqueness of each client, through the creation of pieces that enhance the confidence of a businesswoman.
Claire Albert
Claire Albert is a high-end clothing brand established by Zimbabwean designer, Tanaka. Besides her passion for fashion, Tanaka is determined to help stir a progressive change in the Zimbabwean fashion industry. The label custom designs and tailor makes women’s garments for all occasions, ensuring that every woman looks elegant, sophisticated and sexy – these being their core aesthetic values.
F&F Afro Fashion House
F&F Afro Fashion House – with an expanded interest in accessories – is a young and upcoming brand, founded in 2013 by Cameroonian designer, Ngwi Favor and her mother. F&F are initials of her and her mother’s name – Fri and Favor. The fashion brand’s objective is to highlight the African culture in a contemporary world.
The young brand has achieved a lot since its official inception in 2016. Partnering with UN Women, they’ve organized workshops to empower young Cameroonian women.

Africa Fashion week Nigeria is a social enterprise that provides a platform to help promote Nigerian and African brands through worldwide visibility, distribution and manufacturing. We focus on empowerment, creating jobs and supporting education and skills training in fashion.
As Africa Fashion Week Nigeria 2018 celebrates five outstanding years in Nigeria, it has over the years successfully built a platform for emerging and renowned fashion designers in Africa to showcase exquisite and creative pieces depicting our African heritage and culture through fashion.
