The Nigerian Youth Climate Summit to Begin in March 2026 with National Skills-Based Empowerment Tour Across Nigeria’s Six Geopolitical Zones.
The Nigerian Youth Climate Summit (NYCS) has officially been rescheduled to begin in March 2026, launching a bold, skills-based regional summit tour across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones. The new theme reflects this transformation:
“A Climate Summit for Impact: Learning the Necessary Skills to be Effective Climate Ambassadors and Change Makers.”
Following extensive consultations with stakeholders, youth leaders, and development partners, the summit’s organisers have redesigned the NYCS into a mobile, hands-on empowerment experience — aimed at equipping Nigerian youth not only with knowledge, but with practical tools, green skills, and networks needed to lead climate solutions.
More Than a Summit — A National MovementThe 2026 NYCS format moves beyond lectures and panel discussions, focusing instead on practical climate action training, community project incubation, and youth empowerment.
Each zonal summit will offer:
- Experiential and field-based learning
- Thematic workshops and climate entrepreneurship labs
- Tailored training modules based on local environmental realities
