What’s the one thing you absolutely hate about social media? It’s probably its ability to make you feel poor when in actual fact, you’re not. Sometimes celebrities fall in our line of attack, and other times, they make us speechless with their show of wealth – just the right balance, right?
This week, while celebrities entertained us, they also gave us #InspirationGoals and we are reminiscing about each.
Davido
When the artiste showed off his newest car, a Bentley Bentayga, there was a ton of frenzy on the social media streets. Well, now, everyone is likely to go berserk because the singer revealed in the course of the week that his private jet has arrived.
He shared the untouched photos on Twitter. Of course, the hate comments didn’t take long to pop up, still, no one can deny that the singer has been on a successful row.
Wizkid
Wizkid might just have added ‘king of shaku shaku’ to his list of accolades. Following the release of the video to his new song, commando – directed by Clarence Peters and featuring Ceeza Milli – Wizkid, at the 3 minutes mark, does the popular shaku shaku dance. While he isn’t the only celebrity to bust the move, his might just be best we’ve seen so far.

His Twitter fans unanimously agree.
In addition to his dance moves, our Star Boy has definitely gone international. He was recently featured in the new Nike commercial alongside Neymar, Ronaldinho, Coutinho, Pirlo, et cetera. How cool is that?
Falz
The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) is at their banning spree again and this time, Falz is the victim. During the week, Falz shared a photo of the letter from NBC, telling him his hit song, “This is Nigeria” – a replica of the song, “This is America”, by Childish Gambino – should be banned from airplay. The commission claims the line in the song, “This is Nigeria, everybody be criminal” is vulgar. This is coming after the Muslim clerics claimed several scenes in the song were offensive.
Falz believes the song hit several nerves because of how much fire it has come under, but he isn’t one to be bullied into silence. He’s choosing to take the legal route.
In an interview with Saturday Vanguard, he said: “There is absolutely nothing vulgar about the song, and I think it is ridiculous that the Nigerian Broadcast Commission singled out the least vulgar line and ascribed it to the reason they banned the song.”
Tekno
Once again a Nigerian-American musical collaboration has us jamming and tapping our feet! As a follow up to her new single, ‘Level Up’, Ciara joins vocal force with Tekno to release another banging single, ‘Freak Me’. She veers from her usual genre to embrace Afrobeats – a welcome progress.
#FreakMe Ft Tekno @AlhajiTekno out this Friday! Been dying to share this with you! Can’t wait! #AfroBeats #AfroWave #FreakMeFriday ??? pic.twitter.com/aan2NZXP1K
