The All progressive Congress (APC) has faulted the Ondo SIEC on LG poll voting figure that was jacked up beyond imagination in the just concluded Local Government election in the State is nothing but a fraudulent act perpetrated against the state by the ruling PDP Government.
According to the state Chairman of the party, Barr. D.I kekemeke “If forensic investigation is conducted on the ballot papers used in that election it will reveal they were thumb printed by few people” the statement was made during the reception organised for members of the PDP who defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State.
Kekemeke noted that the figure of over six hundred thousand released by the Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC), as the total number of voters at an election that was reported as having widespread voters apathy across the state is far from being credible.
The party wondered why the PDP decided to rig an election in which it was the only contesting party.
The Chairman also stated that even in the last gubernatorial election with large voters turnout, the total number of votes amassed by the then leading Labour Party under which the present Governor contested, and at the height of his popularity was a little above two hundred thousand votes. While the combined votes of the LP, the PDP and that of the defunct ACN was just above four hundred thousand votes. He wondered how the PDP-led government came about six hundred thousand votes in an election which there was very low turn-out of voters with each polling unit having a range of 3 to 15 voters.
The polling unit where the Governor Mimiko himself was reported to have voted had only twenty one voters, and this number of voters multiplied by the total polling units across the state would give you about forty five thousands votes, how come about the very huge difference, Kekemeke queried.
Hon. Kekemeke, also said that the PDP is a party that has lost both its heart and hands as prominent leaders that represented both the heart and the hands of the party have decamped to the All Progressives Congress, which today, is the only party in Ondo State.
The chairman said APC is a party that belongs to all the people that are willing to come together to bring about effective change to the nation and enjoined the new members into the party to put in all their efforts to ensure the party moves forward and not to entertain any fear as they are now full members of the party.
“What we are having now in Ondo State is a conglomeration of all the people who can no longer endure the pain and hardship caused by this Government of PDP, and today is a manifestation of the willingness of the Ondo State people to change this Governor who is deficient in character and has come to the end of his deceptive game because he has lost his Generals, hence, he has lost this battle. “No matter how long evil travels, nemesis will catch up with it and no matter how long darkness prevails, light will surely overcome,” Kekemeke said during his welcome address to the new members.
He also reiterated his assurance to members that there shall be no imposition of candidate to be the party standard bearer in the coming gubernatorial election. The party is going to have transparent, honest, open and credible primaries for the party candidate to emerge.
The Chairman also took time to caution some members of the party who are using the social media to insult party aspirants other than the ones they are supporting. He charged the aspirants to always take time to read the comments of their followers on social media with a view to cautioning them.
