Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s individual biographies on the Royal.UK site have been replaced with a joint profile. The updated bios, spotted by fan blog Gert’s Royals, now present a combined overview of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s roles and milestones.
The joint profile, located under “The Royal Family” tab alongside other members’ bios, acknowledges the couple’s decision to step back from their royal duties in 2020. It mentions their wedding in 2018 and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
The new profile breaks down Harry and Meghan’s achievements under separate headings, summarising Prince Harry’s military service and the establishment of the Invictus Games, as well as Meghan’s acting career and previous projects like her lifestyle blog, The Tig.
Previously, Prince Harry’s bio included a section titled “Supporting the Monarch.” Now, visitors are directed to the couple’s official website, sussex.com, for information on their current work.
The launch of sussex.com, which coincided with the reveal of their children’s surname as Sussex, received mixed reactions in the U.K. Critics accused the couple of trying to reclaim royal status through their rebranding efforts, highlighting their titles and Meghan’s coat of arms on the site.
In response to criticism and ongoing media scrutiny, a representative for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex emphasized their commitment to their endeavours despite challenges and criticism. Meghan also recently unveiled her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, reflecting her passions for family, cooking, entertaining, and home décor, reminiscent of her previous work on The Tig.
