Legendary singer, Innocent Ujah Idibia, popularly known as Tubaba, in a series of tweet, urged all religious leaders to preach the truth. The ‘African queen’ crooner used the medium to promote change in Africa’s education, religious and tribal system.
According to him, pastors and imams need to begin to preach the truth rather than ask people for money or ask them to kill for God.
He wrote:
“We “AFRICA” Need 2 change our EDUCATION system. That includes religion and tribal nonsense.
My GOD no go tell me 2 collect money for am
My GOD no go tell me 2 fight or kill person for am
My GOD no weak like that.
My GOD don package everything keep, that’s why I get BRAIN, i no go turn the other cheek again.”
He told pastors, imams and “all so called men of God” to differentiate between good and bad instead of embarrassing God.
He added:
“GOOD is GOOD BAD is BAD No ojoro. Use ya brain. ONE LOVE is the ONLY solution. There’s enough for everybody. Greed is the major problem.”
The singer seized the opportunity to mourn the death of late reggae musician, Majek Fashek who died on June 1. He wrote.
“Woke up 2 this sad news. Bless u MAJEK FASHEK. many of the new school artist might not grasp your importance but I appreciate what u represent in naija music history. RIP LION.
I know u and BABA FELA and RAS KIMONO…”
Tubaba concluded his tweets by with lines from one of his songs. He is known to be an advocate for change and good governance in Nigeria.
