1. FAT MAY BE CUDDLY BUT NOT SATISFACTORY – Being overweight has a direct impact on your sexual function, particularly for men. Obesity and cholesterol go hand in hand. Cholesterol leads to reduced blood flow to the genitals and therefore smaller and softer erections. LOSE WEIGHT.
2. EXERCISE FOR LOVE – “Marathon runners make excellent lovers,” so the saying goes. Sex pushes up your pulse, so if you’re starting off on a high pulse rate, because you’re unfit you’re going to run out of breath very quickly. Sex, particularly for men, is like doing push-ups. The fitter you are, the better the sex. Get fit.
3. UP IN SMOKE: If you are a cigarette smoker, your sex life may go up in smoke! Smoking is the biggest cause of erectile dysfunction as it directly reduces blood flow to the genitals. Smoking also leads to shortness of breath, making sex harder. STOP SMOKING.
4. TANKED OUT. Contrary to popular folklore, alcohol does not improve your sexual performance. The reality is that alcohol is bad for your sex life. Alcohol is a “downer”; with too much of it men often struggle to have an erection. But first it is an “upper” in the sense that it makes you feel good (light headed) and uninhibited. Another effect of alcohol is that it dulls your sense of reasoning. When you are drunk, you are not likely to think coherently and you may engage in some reckless act like unprotected sex, which was not intended. This can lead to sexually transmitted infections or unwanted pregnancies. DRINK SENSIBLY IF YOU CAN’T GO TEETOTAL.
5. TAKE IT EASY. Daily life is stressful and life can sometimes be a drag. When one is stressed up, feeling low or depressed, sex is the last thing on one’s mind. If the depression is persistent, do something about it: see a doctor or a therapist. CHEER UP – IT’S A WONDERFUL SEX TONIC.
6. LOVE YOURSELF. Taking care of yourself, ‘pampering yourself’ makes you feel good about yourself. Do those things that make you to feel better about yourself. It may simply be a spa treatment or getting your hair done. A positive self-image does makes you feel attractive and enhances your sex life. FEEL GOOD – GREAT SEX.
