Entrepreneurs succeed because they never give up.
I candidly remember splashing around in the swimming pool at Zumba aqua aerobics. I was new to the class and filled with fear because I kept getting the routine wrong. My head was bobbing around, I kept looking left and then looking right. I was so busy trying to imitate everyone else in the class, I nearly slipped under the water. Suddenly it dawned on me, stop looking at what other people are doing and focus on what I can do in the here and now by following the Aerobics Instructor.
I had an epiphany on the spot and I wanted to apply this thought process to the world of business. In order to grow your business, you need to cultivate your services on a monthly basis. If done correctly, your due care and attention should help your services to blossom. Setting up meetings, following up leads and making phone calls; regarding potential work, all require disciple, focus and an action plan. These processes are needed to help flourish and stay on track. If these things are not present, your business will simply shrivel up and wither away. You need to maintain your consistency, when wanting to expand and reach a wider market.
You must uproot the weeds of procrastination, negative thinking and stagnation. Bury your past failures of what did not work for you and move on. Water your success garden with determination, motivation and direction. Let the world know who you are, what your business does and how your product can improve their lives. Marianne Williamson said “there is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people will not feel insecure around you”. Her words ring true loud and clear, you were born to manifest your gifts and talents in this world. It is your duty to be happy in your work and if you are brave enough to go into business, jump in with both feet.
Although the business place is extremely competitive, you must never sweat in the spotlight. Self-belief in what you do is half the battle. The other half is making sure you utilise your networks to spread the message about what you do. Being in the right event at the right time can be life altering. Water your goals daily with hope, passion and insight.
Plant seeds of excellence in your occupation. Fertilise your professional life with ambition and be sure to prune the negative people in your circle. You are known by the company you keep and you become what you see in your environment. Build a momentum by working with influential people who can take your business to the next level of accomplishments.
Remember the 5 key elements to success:
-
Pay close attention to what your customers require.
-
Take care of your side of business and how you can be the best in your industry.
-
Improve on your weak areas by researching what you do not know, or hire an expert to train you.
-
Always ask questions if you are unsure, never guess answers.
-
Incorporate a work life balance into your business to ensure you do not suffer from exhaustion.
