It seems like yesterday when we were spellbound to our screens watching Genevieve Nnaji act. Certainly, it wasn’t because she was the most skilled actress or funniest, even, but perhaps it was her beauty sans the perfect eyebrow curve and highlighter that our beauty industry hadn’t matured into yet. Whatever it was we know she made Nollywood special and this hasn’t changed over the years even though she has transitioned into other movie departments.
We can’t wait to watch her grace our screens once again in her new movie, Lionheart, but before then, we’ll throw it back to our favourite movies starring Genevieve.
Ijele

In this movie, the actress played the role of a goddess who possessed the power to manipulate rain. She acted alongside Patience Ozokwor, Olu Jacobs, Sam Loco-Efe, et cetera.
Private Sin

This movie released in 2003 was a play out of the quote: appearance is not always reality. The seeming perfect Christian couple – Genevieve Nnaji (who played sister Faith) and Richard Mofe Damijo (who played Pastor Jake) had the least perfect marriage. Even today, this movie’s storyline remains relevant.
Sharon Stone

The actress who played the title character in this 2002 movie was shot into the limelight following her impeccable acting and role in the movie. Her character was in the basic sense a ‘man magnet’; a lady Casanova – an unusual title for a woman at the time.
Games Women Play

This movie featured our favourite movie stars: Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola Jolade Ekehinde, Stella Damasus, Zack Orji, Bob Manuel Udokwo and Desmond Elliot. Again we see a real-life scenario acted out when a famous Nollywood actress (Genevieve) sends her friend (Omotola) to test her fiancé’s (Desmond Elliot) love for her, resulting in an unpleasant end.
