“Oh God of Otedola, please I need my own Ferrari” This may be the outcry of many Nigerians in the coming days. After business mogul, Femi Otedola broke the internet for buying not one but three brand new Ferraris for his daughters, everyone knew that money is the root of all enjoyment. Now, the average cost of a Ferrari in Nigeria is between N55 million to N90 million depending on the year it was manufactured. So do the maths for three of them.
No one prays to be poor but those of us praying to God to have such material possession, can not have it because of our intentions. It is obvious we want such wealth for selfish reasons. God does not bless people for themselves. He blesses people so that they can be a blessing to others. So those who are expecting to have Ferraris out of greed are likely to be disappointed. In some cases, they want to acquire such to oppress people, payback, or cause commotion.
More so, it shows a lack of focus. Now that Otedola is trending, Ferrari seems to be the goal. If another prominent Nigerian does something similar for example Aliko Dangote buys a jet for his son, would the prayer shift too? This present generation is in the fast lane. We seem to care less about the process. Everyone wants to cut corners.
Why do we seem to despise the days of small beginnings? God does not give people things in a ready-made form, they all come from seeds. This represents small and insignificant forms or beginnings. Nothing is impossible. One can have a Ferrari, private plane, gigantic mansion, world-class business, etc, but we must never ignore the process. Good things take time. There is a saying that no pain, no gain. Wealth got from hard work, and due process is sweeter than ill-gotten wealth.
In all, remember that every man has his own path. Find yours and follow through. People should motivate you but never jump the process.
