The Television Academy Foundation is pleased to announce that Uloaku Anyiam-Osigwe, a film and television producer based in Lagos, Nigeria, has been selected as a recipient of the $10,000 Loreen Arbus Focus on Disability Scholarship. This esteemed award recognizes student-produced projects that best portray disability issues or support emerging artists with disabilities.
Anyiam-Osigwe, a recent graduate of the American Film Institute Conservatory in Los Angeles, served as producer on the winning project, “Lola,” a heartwarming scripted drama that explores the complex relationship between a 13-year-old science prodigy and her grandmother, who is struggling with Alzheimer’s disease.
“I am deeply humbled and grateful to receive this scholarship,” said Anyiam-Osigwe. “Dementia is a critical issue that affects families worldwide, and I believe it’s essential to share stories that highlight the importance of empathy, love, and connection.”
The Loreen Arbus Focus on Disability Scholarship will be presented to Anyiam-Osigwe, along with two classmates, at the 44th College Television Awards ceremony on April 5, 2025, at the Television Academy’s North Hollywood campus in California.

As the founder of Next Tomorrow Productions, a production company based in Lagos, she aims to transform the landscape of African television by creating shows that are both entertaining and empowering.
“We are thrilled to recognize Uloaku’s outstanding work and dedication to promoting disability awareness and inclusion in the entertainment industry,” said Madeline Di Nonno, chair of the Television Academy Foundation. “Her passion and commitment to storytelling make her an exceptional recipient of this award.”
