“The misfortune of Nigeria since independence has been its bad leadership and until that problem is solved, she can make no progress. It is therefore the intention of the All Progressives Congress to evolve more qualitative leadership for assuming power after 2015 general elections. “Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso disclosed this during a courtesy call on his Kwara State counterpart, Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed.
The Governor said he was in Ilorin as part of his consultations for the presidential ticket of the APC for the 2015 election.“Nigeria has had the misfortune of bad leadership and the APC would evolve more qualitative leadership after taking over the Federal Government. APC members are practical people with (a) passion to tackle corruption and other issues affecting the nation.
“Our economy can never be good in a situation of crisis; our economy can never be good in the face of corruption”, Kwankwaso said. The Presidential aspirant also hinted his host that “two governors on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party” would soon defect to the APC. He noted that the APC was the “fastest growing party in Nigeria and the only truly national political party”, given the nature of its emergence as a merger of mega parties.
Kwankwaso hailed the Kwara State Government for initiating poverty alleviation and employment generation programmes to reduce youth unemployment and restiveness in the state.
