On the shelf of newly appropriated fashion items is the dad sneakers (Yep! Dad’s aren’t safe from our wardrobe raiding tactics, either). Like the other demasculinized pieces, the dad sneakers would have never caught our attention even if we weren’t in the right frame of mind. But in fashion, it’s unwise to say ‘never’.

The stylish and cool kids wouldn’t mind; they’ve embraced the ugly shoe trend, why not a pretty little dad sneakers? Thanks to Balenciaga, these chunky thick-soled kicks have boomeranged back into our lives and we really don’t mind.
This weekend (and every other weekend for that matter) grab yourself dad sneakers because not only are they everywhere and fashionista-approved, they are ‘oh-so-comfortable’. (No one wants to saunter around in 6-inch heels while getting knackered from the blazing harmattan heat)
