Chioma Momah (née Nwokedi) has built an impressive career in the public sector, with extensive experience in communications, power, and finance. Her legal expertise has been pivotal in shaping policies and regulatory frameworks at the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Rural Electrification Agency (REA), and Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC). She is currently the Head of Policy and Public Affairs at Guinness Nigeria.
Early in her career, she contributed to the NBC Code Review team before taking on roles as Legal Adviser and Board Secretary at REA. At NDIC, she played a key role in major initiatives, including overseeing a complex bank closure process involving 80 microfinance banks, reviewing the NDIC Act, and contributing to developing Mobile Money Guidelines and Conditions of Service. As part of the Strategy and Innovation team, she spearheaded award-winning projects that earned NDIC a Platinum Rating from the Bureau of Public Service Reform (BPSR).
Chioma has also consulted on a DFID-backed project to standardise measurement weights and volunteered with LifeLine NGO. She was a member of the transition committee led by Oby Ezekwesili for Anambra State, bringing her expertise to the governance shift.
She is a respected international speaker, author, and consultant. She has delivered impactful talks at high-profile platforms, including WIMBIZ, NERC, and APEN in Nigeria, as well as conferences in the UK and US. Her focus areas include parenting, literacy, and policy development. As a coach and mentor, she has guided over 100 women worldwide through parenting conferences and coaching programmes.
She also engages a growing online community of more than 8,500 followers on Instagram, YouTube, and other platforms (@chiomahmomah), where she shares daily parenting insights and supports aspiring authors. Chioma is the author of several children’s books, including First Day at Big School, Fun Day at the Museum, and Fun Trip to the Village. Her works for adult readers include Wisdom for Women (Vol 1): A Book About Women in History and Wisdom for Women (Vol 2): A Book About Women in the Bible. She has also contributed to academic journals and media platforms such as Ife Law Review, Leadership Newspaper, Business Day, BellaNaija, and Huffington Post. Her contributions have also earned her several honours, including awards from Study UK and the Anglican Church.
Passionate about literacy, Chioma frequently visits schools across Nigeria to promote reading and learning. She is a Vital Voices fellow and serves on the boards of various organisations, including the Association of Children’s Authors and Illustrators of Nigeria (ACAIN).
