My Dear Daughter,
“Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.” -Galatians 6:7
Too often, we subconsciously or consciously have expectations and tend to focus on the daily blessings we believe we should receive, while we fail to ask ourselves if and why we deserve such rewards: what have we done to make us believe, beyond any doubt, that we are worthy of the best?
My dear, it is vital to remember that for there to be a harvest, the farmer has to plough, dig, sow the seeds, water, weed, and tend the crops to ensure a seamless growth of the plants.
What does the above analogy suggest? We harvest only what we sow, so whatever we invest in form of words, deeds and thoughts would eventually manifest in our lives. That is why it is necessary to pay attention to your thoughts and actions. This perennial truth is crystal in itself.
The opening quote at the inception my letter which is gotten from one of the letters written by St. Paul to the Galatians, still holds immense relevance today as it did then.
My dear, take control of your thoughts. St. Paul’s letter to the Philippians can act as a guide on the type of thoughts you should retain:
“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.” Philippians 4:8
It is your responsibility to plant positive thoughts, yet, I’m not unaware that the challenges of life will come against your resolve and shake the roots of what you’ve sown, but don’t be discouraged; accept it as one of life’s phase. In such circumstances, you should seek out new ways of “watering” what you have sown so it doesn’t wither and die. Persistently hold fast to a positive mental attitude which produces seeds after its kind so you can reap a good life.
Finally, my dear daughter, harvest begets giving, so be generous with the products of your harvest. Mentor others on how to sow correctly not just in your words of encouragement but in your actions and deeds because as you sow bountifully, you equally reap bountifully.
Remain blessed my darling.
Love you always,
Dad
