Being a mom is a lot of work. However, just know you can do great regardless. It is not unusual for some moms to feel unpretty because they had a child or two. Adjusting to their body changes, they may feel they are not as ‘hot’ as they used to be. However, they should remember that they are capable and amazing to handle whatever life throws at them. Feeling good and comfortable in your skin does not have to be rocket science. It is letting go of negativity and bad vibes. Take note of the following that cripple your confidence as a mom:
- Comparison
Comparison is a thief of time. Do not compare yourself to other moms. If you need to block some people from social media to feel good then do so. Instead of unhealthy comparisons, focus on your achievements and wins no matter how little. Don’t let another person make you feel less of yourself.
- Negative self-talk
How do you talk to yourself? Are you harsh and insensitive? You need to change the way you self-talk. This largely affects your self-esteem. Speak to yourself what you want and be kind as well. Practice positive self-affirmation and watch yourself glow.
- Stop trying to be perfect
We are used to the saying that nobody is perfect. That is true because everybody has some things they are battling with and some imperfections. We know that on social media, people put their best foot forward and seem to have a perfect life. Don’t be pressurised to keep up with the Joneses. Remember it is okay to make mistakes for they offer opportunities to learn and grow.
- Ignoring self-care
Your body needs tender loving care. It is up to you to make the most of it. Don’t ignore self-care. Take time to take care of your body and prioritise your entire well-being. Your body will thank you for this.
- Fear judgement
Be bold and audacious. It is understandable that people’s judgement can hurt but don’t let it get to you. Use the energy to focus on your values and priorities. Refuse to allow fear to hold you back.
