Sultry actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde advised intending couples not to be discouraged by the recent horrid stories about marriage.
She made this remark while reflecting on the controversy surrounding the death of gospel singer Osinachi Nwachukwu and the unreported abuse cases in her marriage. Osinachi, 42 ,who passed on last Friday in Abuja, was alleged to have been a victim of domestic assault from her now-embattled husband, Peter Nwachukwu.
The singer was initially thought to have died of throat cancer but her associates claim it may be connected to an alleged assault by her husband, who is now being investigated by the police.
Her death has reignited discussions on rising cases of domestic violence in marriages. In a post via her Instagram story, Omotola said the abuses witnessed in some marriages should not be generalised. The 44-year-old actress said good marriages still exist and enjoined those planning to tie the knot not to panic.
“I know that there are many horrid stories about marriage that screams loud. But I don’t know who needs to hear this… fear not.”
“For every bad marriage that makes the news, there are over a thousand very loving and prosperous marriages that don’t.”
